Thailand formerly known as Siam is a country that lies in the heart of Southeast Asia. It is bordered to the north by Laos and Mynamar and to the east by Cambodia and to the south by Malaysia.
The capital of Thailand is called Bangkok known locally as Krung Thep (กรุงเทพ) which translates as "City of Angels"
Although there has been much on the news lately regarding protests. Bangkok and other parts of the country are relatively safe.
The country is very well known for its golden sandy beaches in the south to the hill tribes in the far north. The people themselves are both warm and friendly with a smile as warm as the glowing sun!

The country has never been colonisedby a foreign power, unlike it's neighbours. It has however suffered periodic invasions by the Burmese and the Khmers and during World War 2 it was briefly occupied by the Japanese to build the infamous bridge over the River Kwai!
One thing you will notice the people are very loyal to their King and he gets respect by all and is loved by both young and old!
